Thirteen Alice High School seniors were nominated by counselors and teachers for Alice Junior Citizen of the Year. The purpose of the Junior Citizen of the Year Award is to honor and reward a student who has demonstrated exceptional interest, understanding and involvement in citizenship and community acitivities. The intent is to encourage students to become tomorrow's civic leaders.
Three nominees are alumni from St. Elizabeth School, they are Julyssa Rodriguez, daughter of Selina and Reuben Garcia, Nicholas Hinojosa, son of Debbie and Frank Hinojosa and Jennifer Zepeda, daughter of Karen and Rey Zepeda. Julyssa and Jennifer were one of the six finalist for the award. Junior Citizen of the Year was awarded to Andres M. Elizondo, St. Joseph School alumni and son of Dorella and Andes Elizondo.
